Immersus Emergo

Immersus Emergo was an artwork commissioned by the Beatyard Festival, a weekend of music at the harbour of Dun Laoghaire.

The exhibition was held on the top floor of the main building of Saint Michel Pier. The show presented a corridor of large panels, realised in loco by affirmed and emergent artists, using a suggested colour palette.

Immersus emergo was an explosion of broken mirrors and paint, surrounded by elements that explore the realm of superstitions and rituals.

The Latin quote "Immersus Emergo" translates immersed emerge, an oxymoron that delineates end and beginning, struggle and delight, defeat and victory. A way to subvert belief and disbelief and cast a new set of rules and practices to attract an elusive fortune.
